Eluxes
ELUXES is the pseudonym of a traveler, an amateur photographer about whom we know little or nothing.
She is totally unknown to the official world of photography (only occasionally some themed exhibitions – for example “Burma Pages”, or “People on the road”, showed a selection of her shots.)
Eluxes collected what she saw for decades, thus realizing an archive of people and places of extraordinary beauty as well as an important historical record that she jealously guarded.
A woman's face, in the making or adult, shining with youth or hollowed out by a hard life, is an anthology of beauty and suffering, dedication and revolt, acceptance and loneliness.
Leafing through this collection, rummaging through those gazes in search of each one's story, is what Eluxes did whenever travelling brought her an encounter with a woman.
