ELUXES is the pseudonym of a traveler, an amateur photographer about whom we know little or nothing.
She is totally unknown to the official world of photography (only occasionally some themed exhibitions – for example “Burma Pages”, or “People on the road”, showed a selection of her shots.)
Eluxes collected what she saw for decades, thus realizing an archive of people and places of extraordinary beauty as well as an important historical record that she jealously guarded.
It is not necessary or opportune to exaggerate the importance of the work in relation to the technique that Eluxes used, perhaps none in reality, nor of her respect for photographic canons; in the quality and content of her work she shows sensitivity and style. The contents become a visual echo of the question of whether the photography still identifies with the means of communication in use today.
